WHO: Dr. Bahman Tavassoli, chief technologist for Advanced Thermal
Solutions, Inc. (ATS), a leading engineering and manufacturing
company supplying complete thermal and mechanical packaging
solutions from analysis and testing to final production.
At ATS, Dr. Tavassoli is responsible for the development of
innovative electronics cooling solutions, provision of thermal
design and consultation services, and ongoing research and
development in electronics cooling. He is an internationally
recognized expert on thermal management and a frequent speaker
at industry conferences including IMAPS and ITHERM.
WHAT: ATCA chassis are becoming increasingly dense with more
powerful components. The junction temperatures of those

Dr. Tavassoli's presentation, "Analytical Modeling for
Hydraulic and Thermal Analysis of an ATCA Chassis," will
provide design engineers with advanced, fast and accurate
thermal design techniques that will help them efficiently use
CFD and experimental testing and speed time-to-market. He will
also demonstrate how a single equation, developed by ATS, can
readily provide the designer with the approximate device
junction temperature, in the shortest amount of time.
