Advanced Technology Systems Wins $20 Million Contract to Support the Architect of the Capitol.


MCLEAN, Va. -- Advanced Technology Systems today announced that it has been awarded a five year, $20 million contract from the General Services Administration The General Services Administration (GSA) was established by section 101 of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949 (40 U.S.C.A. § 751). Under this new contract, Advanced Technology Systems will supply a team of more than 30 people to provide technology infrastructure and security operations support for the ITD. This team will assist the ITD with network engineering, network and help desk operations, and IT security planning. In addition, Advanced Technology Systems will conduct application development, web development, and content management on 10 web sites, including the public web site for AOC (www.aoc.gov) and the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  Botanic Garden (www.usbg.gov), using Microsoft and ColdFusion platforms.

The win at AOC capitalizes on this effort and increases our support in our country's Legislative Branch."

The Architect of the Capitol Established as a permanent office in 1876 (40U.S.C.A. §§ 162, 163), the architect of the capitol oversees the mechanical and structural maintenance of the Capitol, the conservation and care of works of art in the building, the upkeep and improvement of the Capitol grounds, and  is responsible to the United States Congress for the maintenance, operation, development, and preservation of the United States Capitol Complex The United States Capitol Complex is group of about a dozen buildings and facilities in Washington D.C. that are used by the United States government. The buildings and grounds covered in the complex are managed and supervised by the Architect of the Capitol. , which includes the Capitol, the congressional office buildings The congressional office buildings are the office buildings used by the United States Congress to augment the limited space in the United States Capitol. The congressional office buildings are part of the Capitol complex are thus under the authority of the Architect of the Capitol , the Library of Congress buildings, the Supreme Court building, the U.S. Botanic Garden, the Capitol Power Plant, and other facilities.
