Advanced Technology Aimed at Stopping Highway and Intersection Accidents.


DaimlerChrysler recently demonstrated a new innovation in vehicle-to-vehicle communications that will make roads safer than ever before. Already existing Wi-Fi technology allows two vehicles or other roadside devices to directly communicate with each other over a distance of about 300 yards. Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) is a short to medium range wireless protocol specifically designed for automotive use. It offers communication between the vehicle and roadside equipment.
