This course is designed to assist the self-motivated student of information and records management in gaining knowledge about the professional discipline of records management at an advanced level. Both the course textbook textbook Informatics A treatise on a particular subject. See Bible.  and the course materials are designed to provide the student with high-level knowledge of the theory and practice of records and information management. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be well acquainted with the technical knowledge and management principles required to manage the document-based information systems of a public or private enterprise at a sophisticated level.

Textbook readings, self-checking quizzes, study questions, and case study assignments will help you get the knowledge you need. Your completed case study assignments are submitted to the course administrator at ARMA International for comments and study suggestions. There are two exams: a midterm mid·term

1. The middle of an academic term or a political term of office.

2.
a. An examination given at the middle of a school or college term.

b. midterms A series of such examinations.
 and a final, proctored, comprehensive exam, to test you on the entire course.

You must score at least an 80% on the final, proctored exam to earn a Certification of Completion. The student designates the test location and the proctor receives test materials, supervises the test, and returns the material for grading. (The home-study Certificate of Completion is not equivalent to earning the CRM designation. That is granted only to advanced professionals by the Institute of Certified Records Managers

You may choose to audit only. To do so, order course materials and complete them at your own convenience. If auditing, the midterm and final are not included in course materials, and you do not submit your work to ARMA International for scoring and comments.
