Palmiter Brings Extensive Technical and Management Expertise

to Spearhead ART's Engineering Development and Operations

Advanced Radio Telecom Corp. (ART) (Nasdaq:ARTT), a leading broadband wireless Internet Protocol (IP) access services provider, today announced the appointment of Paul S. Palmiter to the position of senior vice president, engineering and operations.

Palmiter will be responsible for the ongoing planning and direction of the overall network engineering activities of the company. Palmiter came to ART from Teledesic LLC, where he most recently held the position of chief engineer. He will report directly to Robert S. McCambridge, ART's president and COO.

Palmiter has more than 20 years of engineering and operations experience in the telecommunications industry. During Palmiter's tenure at Teledesic, he was responsible for engineering management, systems engineering, program management, and the integration of technical and business activities.
