According to the 2000 census, the city population was 185,951. A 2006 U.S. . The T-Ray[TM] 4000 is a revolution in time-domain terahertz instrumentation. It is targeted at the application research and off-line quality control markets. The system weighs approximately 55 pounds and is the size of a briefcase. The company anticipates production shipments of the T-Ray[TM] 4000 will be begin in the 3rd quarter of fiscal 2008.

The heart of the T-Ray[TM] 4000 is the Pulsed Terahertz Controller. The controller is the most full-featured, self-contained time-domain terahertz (TD-THz) engine in the world. It condenses all of the capability of a large TD-THz system into a single, rugged, flexible, powerful and compact instrument. It is the only system available with expandable, multiple THz channels, which enable it to make multiple simultaneous measurements. The patented, fiber-coupled terahertz sensors enable the user to easily reconfigure the system to do transmission or reflection measurements, to translate the sensors to generate images and gather spectroscopic spec·tro·scope

information, or to switch sensors to fit the application being researched. The technology to generate and detect terahertz pulses is completely automatic and portable, allowing the user to concentrate on the measurement they are making rather than the system that is making the measurement.

The T-Ray[TM] 4000 is the first product introduced under Picometrix's new compact, high-resolution, high-speed, high-power, modular product platform. This product platform is designed to be easily adapted to end user and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  requirements for future on-line quality control, defense, and homeland security applications.

Irl Duling, Director of Terahertz Business Development at Picometrix, commented, "We believe the T-Ray[TM] 4000 is a major advancement in terahertz technology, and will hasten the day when terahertz based commercial and industrial applications are widely deployed. It is a full featured, rugged, time-domain terahertz platform with interchangeable subsystems that can be configured for numerous applications, and is supported by years of experience at Picometrix in deploying commercial systems."

About Advanced Photonix, Inc.

Advanced Photonix, Inc.([R]) (AMEX: API) is a leading supplier of opto-electronic solutions and terahertz instrumentation to a global OEM customer base. Products include the patented high-speed optical receivers in APD APD atrial premature depolarization (see atrial premature complex, under complex ); pamidronate.  and PIN configurations and silicon large area avalanche photodiode (LAAPD), PIN photodiode A light sensor (photodetector) that allows current to flow in one direction from one side to the other when it absorbs photons (light). The more light, the more the current. Used to detect light pulses in optical fibers and other light-sensitive applications, it works the opposite of a , and FILTRODE([R]) detectors.
