ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 2003

Herbert L. Whitaker Jr., Ph.D. in chemical engineering and Johnson & Johnson's former director of technology transfer before becoming president/CEO of Lovelace Scientific Resources, will serve as biotech consultant with Biomoda Inc.

Dr. Whitaker has an extensive background in clinical research project management and clinical trials and has recently focused his efforts on molecular toxicology toxicology, study of poisons, or toxins, from the standpoint of detection, isolation, identification, and determination of their effects on the human body. Toxicology may be considered the branch of pharmacology devoted to the study of the poisonous effects of drugs.  evaluated through micro arrays.

Whitaker will initially focus on further developing the product and assisting the movement of its technology to a level where it could be commercialized on a trial basis. Whitaker will also advise on testing array development and protocol design.

ADOT's joint development of the Color-Chek device is nearing completion of its developmental stage and is anticipated to be at the final test phase in less than three weeks. The company projects the market for this development to appear quite substantial if pricing is maintained at a reasonable level.
