Advanced NMR Systems reports 173% revenue increase & sharply reduced loss.

Revenues for 1994 rose to $5,288,000 from the $1,936,000 reported for 1993. The growth in revenues stemmed from an increase in the number of systems shipped with services provided in the MRI 1. (application) MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

The net loss for 1994, which includes the company's share of losses in its majority-owned subsidiary Advanced Mammography mammography, diagnostic procedure that uses low-dose X rays to detect abnormalities in the breasts. The early diagnosis of breast cancer made possible by the routine use of mammography for screening women increases a woman's treatment alternatives and improves her  Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MAMO), amounted to $3,547,000, or $0.15 per share, a sharp reduction from the net loss of $6,167,000, or $0.32 per share, reported for 1993.

The company noted that it expects to generate significant revenue in 1995 from its InstaScan retrofit package and its high field 3T and 4T systems and looks for additional service contract income. While Advanced Mammography's development stage losses have negatively impacted ANMR's performance thus far, it is expected that AMS AMS - Andrew Message System  sales will commence in 1995.
