The AVH-P7800DVD is a superior DVD Audio player capable of providing 96k/24-bit 5.1-channel high-resolution sound. Discs with DTS (1) (Digital Theatre Sound) A digital audio encoding system used in movie and home theaters. Popularized by the movie Jurassic Park, the six-channel (5. (R) and Dolby Digital(R) encoding including DTS-ES DTS-ES Digital Theater Systems Extended Surround (6.1 channel surround sound) , DTS-NEO6 and Dolby EX are clearly reproduced, sending signals to discrete channels. The unit can be bi-amplified utilizing a built-in MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor) The most popular and widely used type of field effect transistor (see FET). MOSFETs are either NMOS (n-channel) or PMOS (p-channel) transistors, which are fabricated as individually packaged  50 X 8 amplification and nine-channel high volt pre-amp to produce unrivaled sound. The player also features Dolby Pro Logic See Dolby Surround. (R) II technology to matrix stereo signals into multi-channel surround sound. A 13-band graphic equalizer, 3-band parametric equalizer, multi-channel auto equalizer and auto time alignment provide key adjustments, tailoring the sound to the listener's exact parameters.

To match its excellent processing capabilities, the AVH-P7800DVD utilizes a high quality touch screen video monitor.  display provides exceptional picture quality to accommodate DVD video, wide VGA (800 X 480 pixels) and QVGA (Quarter VGA) A screen resolution of 320x240 pixels, which is used on handheld devices. Although 320x240 seems half the 640x480 VGA resolution, the "quarter" comes from the total number of pixels, which is one fourth the number (320 times 240=76800; 640 times 480=307200). . Unlike other in-car video products, the AVH-P7800DVD monitor receives video information directly from the DVD mechanism as component video creating the highest resolution currently available in a car.

Commonly used portable technologies, such as iPod players and Bluetooth cellular phones, can be controlled directly from the AVH-P7800DVD touch screen display. Optional attachments for XM(R) Satellite Radio, Sirius(R) Satellite Radio, iPod players, Bluetooth devices, vehicle dynamics, TV tuner and navigation are available to create the ultimate audio, video and information system.

The AVH-P7800DVD will be available in June 2006 for a retail price of $2200.
