Advanced Mammography Systems to install Aurora Breast Imaging at Boston's Faulkner Hospital.

WILMINGTON, MASS.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct.3, 1996--Advanced Mammography Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: MAMO) announced today that pursuant to an agreement between Advanced NMR Systems' imaging subsidiary and Faulkner Hospital that it will install its Aurora Breast Imaging Systems at the world renowned Faulkner-Sagoff Centre for Breast Health Care. Advanced NMR Systems' subsidiary which acquired the Aurora system from Advanced Mammography Systems Inc. will own and operate this Breast Imaging Center where the system will be used for clinical diagnosis of breast disease. The system is available at a list price of approximately $500,000.

The Aurora is the only commercially dedicated Breast Imaging system based on magnentic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. It was designed to deliver the specific soft tissue definition of MRI at significantly lower cost compared with whole body MR scanners, making the technology accessible to the broadest patient population possible. Additionally, the system is designed for push button use, low cost siting and operation and reduced maintenance expense to make it affordable to mammography practices where it will have the highest utilization.
