Infonox and Nexus Software team up to deliver vendor neutrality

and rapid ATM deployment

Nexus Software, Inc., provider of open financial device middleware, and Infonox, an infrastructure software company focusing on transaction and payment products, have announced a strategic alliance, enabling simplified deployment of advanced function, Web-enabled ATMs worldwide.

Nexus' XFS-compliant INvolve(R) middleware, and Infonox's glu-on(TM) plug-in technology facilitates the advanced functionality. Glu-on provides connectivity to Infonox's Active Payment Platform and also offers extensive capability to deployers for managing events, notifications, transaction flows and healing of devices. ATMs using glu-on and INvolve have already been rolled out in gaming and retail markets.

"Glu-on is effective because it is written to work with most standards - open, proprietary, and even futuristic extensions for devices currently under consideration by major deployers. The open standard XFS XFS X Font Server (Sun)

Now, with glu-on coupled with INvolve, deployers can choose the hardware that best meets the needs of their end users."

officials from both companies, the alliance is expected to speed up the transition from legacy ATMs to Web-enabled ATMs. Current users of INvolve middleware can add glu-on and instantly offer additional transactional capabilities.

"Infonox's Active Payment Platform aggregates multiple systems quickly and efficiently," said Bob Usner, marketing director for Nexus Software. "This advanced technology allows ATMs to perform functions that, until now, demanded human interaction to be completed. Financial service providers worldwide can now offer transaction services anytime, day or night, anywhere they have a Web-enabled ATM."

Nexus' INvolve spans all customer delivery channels, allowing financial institutions and service providers to utilize a single middleware platform to connect applications and devices, regardless of vendor or architecture. Since most retail banking applications are specific to each customer delivery channel (i.e. ATM, teller, kiosk, Internet), and because most applications are proprietary to a specific vendor device, middleware is used to ensure timely and accurate data sharing The ability to share the same data resource with multiple applications or users. It implies that the data are stored in one or more servers in the network and that there is some software locking mechanism that prevents the same set of data from being changed by two people at the same time.  and communication across all applications and devices. INvolve is fully compliant and certified on the Infonox Active Payment Platform.
