Advanced Computer Communications (ACC), a leading provider of network access solutions, Monday announced the latest addition to its Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)-based network management family with the introduction of RiverView Pro for Windows.

Running in Windows 95 or Windows NT environments as a 32-bit multithreaded application, RiverView Pro adds full graphical configuration of ACC remote access devices.

"With RiverView Pro, network managers now have the performance at their fingertips to manage mid- to large-sized networks from a PC," said Product Manager Lisa Aviani.

Through an intuitive point-and-click interface, RiverView Pro enables complete configuration of physical and logical elements of ACC devices, including LAN and WAN interfaces, bridge and routing protocols and Bandwidth Optimization features. It includes sophisticated management tools such as node discovery, automatic icon assignment, built-in MIB compiler and MIB browser, error checking and extensive on-line help.

RiverView Pro for Windows is the latest offering in ACC's comprehensive SNMP-based network management family, which also includes RiverView for Windows and RiverView for UNIX.

Based on CastleRock's SNMPc network management software, RiverView for Windows is a robust, PC-based solution for monitoring small- to mid-sized networks. RiverView for Windows includes many sophisticated network analysis tools such as real-time and long-term graphical analysis of MIB variables.

Capable of managing thousands of remote nodes, RiverView for UNIX provides the performance and capacity for managing large corporate or service provider networks. Based on the popular HP OpenView platform, it seamlessly integrates into existing management environments.

All RiverView products support automatic node discovery to automatically map network topologies. Information can be obtained at the system, module or interface level through a point-and-click interface.
