NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2000

The Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Communications Technologies Inc (OTC-BB-"ADVC ADVC Analog to Digital Video Converter  "), Roger May, today announced today that ACT Inc. (ACT USA) has formed a new joint venture company in the USA to market and distribute the full range of LONWORKS products currently developed by Australon Enterprises Pty Ltd PTY LTD Propriety Limited (company structure in Australia)  in Australia.

The new Delaware Corporation A Delaware corporation is a corporation chartered in the U.S. state of Delaware. Delaware is well known as a corporate haven, and thus, over 50% of US publicly-traded corporations and 58% of the Fortune 500 companies are incorporated in the state.  named Australon (USA) Inc., will be owned 50% by Advanced Communications Technologies Inc and 50% by Australian based associate company, Australon Enterprises Pty Ltd.

The new company has been formed to market and distribute an extensive range of LonWorks based network control products, currently being developed and manufactured by Australon Enterprises Pty Ltd. in Melbourne, Australia. The primary technology employed in Australon's products is LONWORKS, a technology developed by Echelon Inc. Echelon is a world leader in control networks utilizing the LONWORKS technology, and is also a leading supplier of infrastructure hardware and software to the device networking market.

Australon has established an extensive base for sales of Australon products in Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore, and throughout the Asia Pacific region. Some of Australon's current and potential clients include Hyundai, Samsung, Korea Telecom

An extensive product range is currently being developed by Australon, which will see innovative products brought to market over the next twelve months. Products include:

February 2000 - following successful worldwide trials, Cisco Systems certified Echelon's iLon 1000 Internet Server, which will bring billions of everyday products into the Internet Protocol based intranet LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  or WAN.

The objectives of the new USA based Australon (USA) Inc, are to generate considerable revenues by establishing a nationwide sales and distribution network in the Unites States for its full range of LONWORKS based products, while at the same time utilizing its technical resources in Australia to develop products specifically designed for the US marketplace. Mr. Lawrence Chan, Vice President & Managing Director ASIA/Pacific Region for Echelon, said that "he was delighted that Australon had decided to expand the marketing of its innovative range of new LONWORKS based products into the United States".
