Advanced Cell Technology Applauds Governor Schwarzenegger for Directing $150 Million Loan to Fund Stem Cell Research; Further Positions California as World Leader in Field of Regenerative Medicine.

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- William M. Caldwell, IV, Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Cell Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:ACTC), today praised Governor Schwarzenegger for directing the state to issue a loan of up to $150 million to the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). CIRM is the state agency responsible for disbursing $3 billion for stem cell research to California universities and research institutions.

"Governor Schwarzenegger has further positioned California to lead the nation in the promising field of regenerative medicine," said Mr. Caldwell. Earlier this year, Advanced Cell Technology moved its headquarters and opened a state-of-the-art R&D facility in California, which encompasses a 10,000-square-foot Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) capable laboratory.
