) criteria. The CLRN review indicates that Advanced Academics meets legal compliance and aligns to California Content Standards. It also means California public schools may spend up to 30 percent of their Instructional Monetary Funds to purchase courses through Advanced Academics.

The purpose of CLRN is to provide a one-stop information source where California educators can identify supplemental electronic learning resources that both meet local instructional needs and embody the implementation of California curriculum frameworks and standards. The CLRN review process utilizes criteria approved by the California State Board of Education The California State Board of Education is the governing and policy-making body of the California Department of Education. The State Board of Education sets K-12 education policy in the areas of standards, instructional materials, assessment, and accountability. . California educators with specific content experience are selected through an application process to act as reviewers once they have completed a rigorous training program. The review process utilizes the State Board of Education approved review criteria, which covers three areas: Legal Compliance, Standards Alignment, and Minimum Requirements.
