SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 1996--Advanced System Products, Inc. (AdvanSys), a leading manufacturer of SCSI SCSI
in full Small Computer System Interface

Once common standard for connecting peripheral devices (disks, modems, printers, etc.) to small and medium-sized computers. SCSI has given way to faster standards, such as Firewire and USB.
(Small Computer System Interface) host adapters, today announced the VAR Direct program, created to deliver the company's highly compatible, high-performance SCSI solutions to resellers at market-leading low prices.

AdvanSys will offer VAR Direct to channel partners effective immediately, and resellers can enroll online at www.AdvanSys.com or by contacting AdvanSys at 800/883-1099.

VAR Direct provides Value Added Resellers (VARs), systems integrators and other reselling organizations a variety of services, including increased margins on resale product purchases, immediate shipment to stock and free around-the- clock technical support. AdvanSys will also offer marketing support in the form of co-op marketing development funds for qualified resellers, as well as corporate and end user referrals to key resellers.

"We believe that the artificially high prices being commanded by other SCSI vendors should be eliminated," said George Moore George Moore may refer to:

, vice president of sales and marketing for AdvanSys. "So, we're issuing what we call a `channel challenge,' beginning our fight to reduce the street price of SCSI with the VAR Direct program."

By selling direct to VARs, AdvanSys will provide its highly successful products at prices substantially below current street prices for SCSI host adapters.

The AdvanSys SCSI solution has already been endorsed by a number of leading OEMs, including Yamaha, Philips Electronics and Iomega. "In effect, we're leveraging our success with OEMs into our newly created VAR Direct program," Moore continued. "This type of program, with its aggressive pricing, has been long overdue in the SCSI market."
