CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 14, 1995-- AdvanCell Logic Corporation, a high technology startup, is betting its future on the emerging market of specialized logic cores.

Its initial focus is to provide cores for the physical layer in the ATM network.

The company's first product, a SONET UNI processor, is a synthesizable core which implements Transmission Convergence and Cell Delineation with a UTOPIA interface. The company's future products will include framing cells for local and wide area networks. These cores can be easily integrated with other ATM application ASICs.

AdvanCell Logic is currently working on a clock generation and recovery circuit for integration with SONET to make the core SUNI-LITE compatible.

AdvanCell's cores are synthesizable by using Synopsys and FPGA synthesis tools. The company offers consulting services to customers for any customization and integration work.

AdvanCell's SONET UNI processor core can be licensed by ASIC designers of ATM switch and network interface card vendors. ASIC vendors can add the AdvanCell SONET UNI processor core to their libraries. Semiconductor vendors can license AdvanCell's cores to build standard parts for the ATM market.

AdvanCell's SONET core licenses are available now for gate level and source code. The price begins at $120,000. VHDL versions cost extra depending on the VHDL simulator.
