BMC Software will accompany the investment with an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) The rebranding of equipment and selling it. The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  relationship with Aduva that includes both existing and new products that are jointly developed. BMC Software will gain the rights to package and resell Aduva's Linux products including jointly developed products for the IBM zSeries.

The Intel 64 Fund investment in Aduva, Inc. was made in support of Aduva's commitment to develop an optimized version of its Aduva Director for Intel's upcoming IA-64 product family, beginning with the Intel(R) Itanium(TM) processor.
