Aduva Director to Extend Linux Administration Capabilities of HP

Servicecontrol Manager

Aduva Inc. today announced it has joined Hewlett-Packard Company's (NYSE: HWP) Servicecontrol Manager partner program, whereby the two companies will deliver advanced Linux administration capabilities to customers. HP Servicecontrol Manager provides the central facilitation point for HP and third-party tools for fault monitoring, configuration and workload management across multiple operating systems. Through an integration to HP Servicecontrol Manager, Aduva Director can be launched from the HP Servicecontrol Manager central management server. Aduva Director, Aduva's enterprise management solution complements HP's solution (Servicecontrol Manager) by facilitating automated deployment and management of numerous Linux systems from a central location.

Critics of Linux' open source systems, often cite high deployment, maintenance and support costs as barriers for widespread adoption. In-house knowledge of the interoperability, reliability and security of systems originating from a loosely bound community of open source developers has traditionally required significant investment in internal expertise and on-going maintenance.

According to Survey.com research, 69 percent of respondents cited lack of technical support and 67 percent cited lack of internal Linux expertise as major impediments in their adoption of Linux.
