Adult community opens in Rye. (Residential).

One of the first active-adult housing communities nationwide that is part of a master-planned multigenerational campus, Stone Gate at BelleFair in Rye Brook, N.Y., has opened an Information and Design Center, announced Michael Daly, president and chief executive officer of Sterling Glen Communities, the developer. Located on-site on King Street in Westchester village, the Stone Gate Center offers information about the newest option in adult living for seniors aged 62 and over.

"Stone Gate is introducing resort-style living in beautiful apartments with a wide range of services and amenities included with the rent," Daly explained. "In addition, we are situated on the campus of BelleFair, an established neighborhood of families and working professionals that offers recreation, culture and entertainment as part of the lifestyle. The combination of location, apartments, neighborhood and services is unrivaled in the region."

Stone Gate's Information and Design Center, which is open by appointment, serves as the welcome point for area residents and visitors to learn all about this innovation in senior housing. Designed as a reception area, the new Center features building and apartment floor plans, and exterior and interior renderings. It also offers in-depth information regarding onsite and nearby social, recreational, educational and enrichment programs, including those offered at Westchester Performing Arts Center, the Nueberger Museum of Art and SUNY Purchase. Sterling Glen is currently recruiting sales staff to market the community.

Construction of Stone Gate is nearing completion, with initial occupancy planned by year-end 2003. Many who have expressed interest have already applied for priority membership to reserve their apartment/home on a first come first serve basis.
