Adult Swim Expands Programming to Seven Nights a Week Starting Friday, July 6.

ATLANTA -- Adult Swim Adult Swim is the name for an adult-oriented television programming network. It shares channel space with Cartoon Network in the United States, featuring absurdist and often ribald comedy, in contrast to the much tamer child and pre-teen oriented daytime Cartoon Network.  is adding a seventh night of programming each week, beginning Friday, July 6. Starting in July, Adult Swim's schedule will include Friday nights and will air Monday - Saturday, 11 p.m. - 6 a.m. (ET, PT) and Sundays at 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. (ET, PT). To kick off Adult Swim's first Friday ever, the network will run a Family Guy marathon, 11 p.m. - 2 a.m. (ET, PT).

The highly-rated late-night network for adults debuted in Sept. 2001 with just three hours of programming airing two nights a week. In January 2003, fueled by popularity and impressive ratings gains, Adult Swim's schedule increased to five nights per week, Sunday Sunday: see Sabbath; week.  - Thursday, 11 p.m. - 2 a.m. (ET, PT). By March 2005, the late-night block more than doubled its air time, jumping from 15 hours to 42 hours a week, airing Monday - Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, 11 p.m. - 6 a.m. (ET, PT). Last spring, Adult Swim grew into its current 45 programmable hours with a half-hour of programming added to the Monday - Thursday schedule.
