Adult Students Reap Advantages of Accelerated Degree Program from Nyack College.

NYACK, N.Y. -- When you think of a college student, do you conjure up an image of a twenty-something student living in a dorm and sleeping late? Think again. More and more working adults are headed back to the classroom to earn degrees, increase self- confidence and open up new career opportunities.

The Nyack College School of Adult and Continuing Education's (SACE) Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCP) is designed for adults who have previously completed a minimum of 60 college credits. Classes are offered once a week at various locations in Albany, Brooklyn, Long Island, Manhattan, Queens, and the Nyack College campus in Nyack, New York.

For Kevin Hill, vice president of a commercial printing services firm, the radio ad for the ADCP he heard while driving made him realize the opportunity to achieve his goal was at his fingertips.

The structure of the program enabled Kevin to complete his degree while balancing work and personal obligations and has opened up new career options.

In addition to his career in the commercial printing business, Kevin is now teaching and lecturing on corporate diversity and strategic planning. Kevin is also enrolled in the Nyack Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program to further expand his opportunities for academic pursuits.

Mike Valloney was working as a detective for the police department when he heard about the Nyack ADCP from a friend. He enrolled and was inspired by his educational experience; he went on to earn a master's degree in public administration and a law degree. Today, he works as a hearing officer for a government organization.
