, Inc. (Nasdaq:CMGI); CMGI announced a letter of agreement to acquire 1stUp.com on Sept. 30, 1999.

On November 1, Adsmart began selling advertisements presented to users of the popular AltaVista FreeAccess service, now with more than 600,000 registered users. Under the agreement, Adsmart will also sell advertisements for future ad-supported Internet access services powered by 1stUp.com as they become available. Ads sold by Adsmart are viewable in the advertising window on the 1stUp.com navigation bar A set of buttons or graphic images typically in a row or column used as a central point that link you to major topic sections on a Web site. If the navigation bar is a single graphic image with multiple selections, it is known as an imagemap.
