NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 2003

Travelzoo Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB).
:TVZO), the largest online publisher of sales and specials available directly from hundreds of travel companies, today announced that findings from a recent internal study show that ads placed on Travelzoo stimulate approximately 2 million trips for the travel industry annually and that 32% of those trips are unplanned.

The study, based on a survey of over 2,000 Travelzoo subscribers, and conducted by management consulting Noun 1. management consulting - a service industry that provides advice to those in charge of running a business

firm McKinsey & Company, found that among the Travelzoo users who purchased a trip after seeing one advertised on Travelzoo's media products, 32% said that a primary factor in their trip purchase was that they "did not plan to go on the trip, but found the offer too good to pass up." That equates to over 640,000 unplanned trips stimulated by Travelzoo ads every year.

The survey results also identified that Travelzoo ads can effectively persuade users about a variety of trip specifics. Asked which factors they had decided on before seeing an ad on Travelzoo and purchasing their trip, Travelzoo users said that they were largely undecided about specifics of their trip prior to purchase.

Prior to purchasing an offer seen on Travelzoo:

-- 93% of respondents had not yet decided on a specific airline

or hotel brand

-- 64% of respondents had not yet decided on specific travel

dates

-- 50% of respondents had not yet decided on a trip destination

-- 37% of respondents had not yet decided on any of the above

"In a period when the travel industry is facing some of its greatest challenges in recent history, we're proud to provide our advertisers an effective way to stimulate truly incremental business," commented Ralph Bartel, CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
