Adobe teams with MediaBin to deliver dynamic imaging capabilities to digital asset management.

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE), a leader in network publishing, has announced that MediaBin Inc., a leading provider of enterprise brand asset management software, has completed an agreement to include Adobe AlterCast software within its product suite, bringing enhanced image processing capabilities to MediaBin customers.

Companies that create integrated advertising and marketing campaigns quickly find that publishing large volumes of images can be cumbersome and time intensive. Many of these companies work with multiple external agencies and must cope with high volumes of frequently changing images stored in many different locations. The overhead of managing large image libraries makes it difficult for businesses to capitalize on their brand assets in an efficient and consistent manner.

The MediaBin Brand Asset Management system provides a web-accessible central catalog for digital assets, including graphics, product photos, Adobe PDF files, Microsoft Office documents and video files. Customers can protect brand assets by ensuring proper use, and increase collaboration with colleagues by accessing materials through a highly organized and automated system.

With AlterCast, MediaBin users will have greatly enhanced image manipulation capabilities that will speed the process of producing visually rich, personalized images for web, print and wireless devices. The inclusion of the AlterCast imaging engine will reduce production bottlenecks by allowing graphics professionals and business users across the enterprise to manipulate images from any standard Web browser.

Adobe AlterCast is built on award-winning Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator technology. It automates the process of reformatting and redesigning images for delivery on any web-enabled device, including PDA's and cell phones. AlterCast takes the busy work away from graphic designers and allows them to concentrate on more complex creative tasks.

The Adobe AlterCast imaging engine is currently shipping with MediaBin's Enterprise Brand Asset Management systems.
