MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1994--Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) today announced its first entries into the consumer CD-ROM software market with the introduction of deluxe CD versions of its award-winning consumer graphics programs for Macintosh computers.

Now available from Adobe's consumer products group (formerly the Aldus Consumer Division) are Adobe HomePublisher 2.0 Deluxe CD and SuperPaint 3.5 Deluxe CD, both with an estimated street price of $69, and Adobe Paint & Publish Deluxe CD, a bundle of the two award-winning consumer graphics programs, with an estimated street price of $99. All products are expected to be available by early December 1994 from Adobe Resellers, any retail outlet that carries consumer software and directly from Adobe.

The new Deluxe CD version of SuperPaint incorporates easy-to-use painting, drawing and image enhancement tools and clip art images in one package. The market's premier consumer graphics software program, SuperPaint now enables even novice artists to create stunning, original artwork. The CD version makes it convenient to browse through the on-line catalog of more than 1,500 clip art images in commonly used file formats such as PICT and EPS, so users can quickly access images to enhance their designs.

Adobe HomePublisher CD Deluxe Makes Powerful Desktop Publishing Easy

Adobe HomePublisher 2.0 CD Deluxe is the complete publishing solution for creating professional-looking home and office documents, including fliers, brochures, labels, calendars and more. The Deluxe CD features more than 1,500 clip art images (PICT and EPS) that can be viewed and accessed easily from the program's on-line browser.

Fifty built-in templates are included to create frequently used documents, such as business cards and newsletters, making it easy for the novice to create professional designs. A dozen exciting fonts and specialty designer papers are also included, so users can get started right away with designing their own personal or business projects.

System Requirements

The recommended system for the new Adobe CD Deluxe products is a color-capable Macintosh SE/30 or later model, running System 6.0.7 or higher, a hard disk, and a CD-ROM player. Thirty-two-bit QuickDraw is required for color documents when running under systems earlier than System 7.0. A QuickTime extension is required to use the QuickTime application.
