Adobe Systems announces the new "Classroom in a CD" instructional series; Customization features allow for flexible lesson planning.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 26, 1997--Adobe Systems, Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE) today announced the new Classroom in a CD, software and instructional materials for its major products. Classroom in a CD is designed for use in schools, universities, training businesses and for other educators. Based on Adobe's popular Classroom in a Box series, Classroom in a CD is packaged on compact discs to make it easier for educators to get up and running quickly.

"We listened to what educators were asking for -- flexibility and stable prices -- and developed this product to respond to those needs," said Kisa Harris, learning resource group manager at Adobe. "One of the benefits to the CD packaging is that instructors can have Adobe software and curriculum on their desks in record time with substantially lower shipping costs."

The new series provides additional flexibility to educators, allowing lessons to be reproduced and delivered as needed. Classroom in a CD evolved from Adobe's traditional Classroom in a Box product line, and continues to offer workbook-style curriculum and application documentation, now in electronic format through Portable Document Format (PDF). It also provides educators the flexibility to customize classes by allowing them to reprint any of the curriculum and software documentation on demand.

The all-electronic Classroom in a CD offers educators software for ten computers. It contains two to three CDs with full application software, all the documentation in PDF, with 10-user serial numbers for installation for all included software, a PDF file of the complete Classroom in a Book, instructor notes in PDF, Acrobat Reader software, a quick reference card in PDF, and a new Classroom in a CD license agreement.

Classroom in a CD will be available soon for a number of Adobe products including Acrobat3.0, Illustrator6.0, PageMaker6.5, PageMill 4.0, Persuasion4.0, and Photoshop4.0 software.
