Adobe Systems' John Warnock Inducted Into Computer Industry Hall of Fame.

John E. Warnock, cochairman and chief executive of Adobe Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADBE), will be inducted into the Computer Industry Hall of Fame tonight at a ceremony in conjunction with the Comdex computer show being held here. Warnock, a resident of Los Altos, Calif., is one of 10 computer-industry visionaries selected for the Hall of Fame by the editors of CMP Media's Computer Reseller News and The Computer Museum in Boston.

Warnock and partner Charles Geschke founded Adobe Systems Inc., in 1982 and altered the ancient process of applying print to paper, sparking one of the most explosive movements in the high-technology industry--desktop publishing. He is described as a man consumed by his quest to forever change the art of publishing. Warnock has been a leader in desktop publishing since the 1970s when he worked at Xerox Corp.

The industry Hall of Fame was created in 1997 to recognize the achievements of computer-industry visionaries. Past inductees include Bill Gates, Microsoft; Andrew Grove, Intel; William Hewlett, Hewlett-Packard; Steve Jobs, Apple Computer; and Alan Shugart, Seagate Technology.
