Adobe PageMill Receives Strong Market Response; Customers Welcome Availability of Easy-to-Use Web Authoring Tools.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 11, 1995-- (NASDAQ:ADBE) Demonstrating the strong market demand for its powerful yet easy-to-use authoring tools for the Internet, Adobe Systems Inc. announced today that Adobe PageMill web authoring software for the Macintosh has shipped over 30,000 units in the first month of availability.

Adobe PageMill simplifies the traditional process of World Wide Web authoring by allowing customers to easily create, edit and update web pages without the complexities of Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML).

Traditionally, web page creation was a tedious process that required an understanding of HTML, URL addresses and various image file formats. Simple changes to web content could be time consuming and error-prone. Adobe PageMill is an integrated authoring tool that simplifies the creation of error-free web pages. Users can create web pages exactly as they will appear in popular web browsers without ever viewing HTML code. Hypertext links between files can be created through simple drag-and-drop procedures. Advanced HTML features, including clickable image maps, fill-in forms, text/check boxes and pop-up menus, are all supported in the Adobe PageMill program with WYSIWYG ease and accuracy.

Adobe PageMill software is available at an introductory price of $99 until Jan. 31, 1996. Minimum system requirements include a Macintosh computer running Apple System Software version 7.1 or later with at least 3 megabytes of free memory and a color display. PageMill supports both PowerPC and 68K Macintosh systems. The PageMill program's installer supplies the drag-and-drop extension required by Apple Systems Software version 7.1.
