Adobe Expands Programs and Training Opportunities for Teachers at NECC 2004.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- New Adobe Acrobat for Educators Program Enables Schools to Enhance Curriculum and Improve Collaboration

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced new and expanded programs and training opportunities for teachers at the National Education Computing Conference 2004, the premier educational technology forum. At the conference, Adobe debuted the Adobe Acrobat(R) for Educators program and expanded the Adobe Master Teachers and the Adobe Digital Kids Club programs. Adobe also provided training opportunities for 600 teachers.

The Acrobat for Educators program is designed to help educators enhance curriculum and improve classroom collaboration with essential resources, such as expert advice, training, lesson plans and curriculum ideas, and a community to share best practices. As part of the program, Adobe is offering educators a 30-day free trial version, and $30 rebate off the purchase of Acrobat 6.0 Professional, as well as free online training and curriculum guides. Adobe also is creating an Acrobat for Educators community to share best practices. Information on the rebate and the community is available at

"Acrobat is changing how educators share and disseminate information," said Steve Adler from Northern Valley Regional High School in Bergen County, N.J., who serves as an Adobe Master Teacher and community leader for the new program. "The new community will enable educators to share best practices and curriculum in using Acrobat in the classroom. We already have more than 300 educators signed up."

The Adobe Master Teachers program, which recognizes teachers for innovative uses of Adobe Education solutions in the classroom, added new teachers including: Brian Reedy from Carson High School in Carson City, Nev.; Mark Johnson from Crestwood Junior and Senior High Schools in Cresco, Iowa; Sara Martin from Hart-Ransom School in Modesto, Calif.; Linda Dickeson from Lincoln Public Schools in Lincoln, Neb.; and Johanna Riddle from Samsula Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. These elementary through high school educators will join Adobe's existing Master Teachers to contribute their expertise in promoting excellence in education through the integration of Adobe solutions in the classroom.

This year Adobe also expanded the Adobe Digital Kids Club program, which promotes the use of digital photography in schools, with support for student digital photography contests, media festivals and summer camps. This augments the digital photography resources the program provides today, such as expert advice, training, lesson plans and curriculum ideas, a community to share best practices, and a showcase for student work.

Adobe will also showcase (Booth 1116 at the Morial Convention Center) its complete product offering for technology-enhanced learning. In its daily educational and hands-on training sessions, the company will offer in-depth training to 600 teachers taught by Adobe Master Teachers and other experts.
