Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE), the leader in network publishing, today unveiled the next phase of its enterprise strategy with the announcement of an alliance between SAP and Adobe to integrate Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) and Adobe PDF technology into the mySAP.com(R) e-business platform (see related release "SAP and Adobe Announce Global Agreement"). This initiative marks a critical step in Adobe's product strategy, focused on enabling businesses to make compelling content available anytime, anywhere on any device.

In its first major launch into the enterprise market, Adobe is exhibiting its full range of enterprise-ready products at SAPPHIRE '02, including Adobe Acrobat, a global standard for electronic documents; Adobe e-forms and e-presentment solutions; and Adobe AlterCast(TM), a dynamic imaging server for e-business applications. Adobe president and CEO Bruce Chizen will join Hasso Plattner, co-chairman, CEO and co-founder of SAP AG, on stage today during the keynote at SAPPHIRE Orlando '02 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. EDT.

Illustrating the benefits of the alliance, Adobe's vice president of ePaper(TM) solutions, Joe Eschbach, will present a technology demonstration Friday, June 7 at 11:30 a.m., showing how Adobe and SAP products will integrate to streamline document-intensive workflows.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), a typical company of 1,000 people prints 9 million pages, copies 4 million pages, sends and receives 1 million faxes, and spends 81,700 hours each year moving documents from one location to another. Together, Adobe and SAP will offer enterprise customers solutions that transform documents, forms, and manual workflows into quick, more secure communications with tighter data exchange.

Through new products and solutions introduced during the past 12 months, Adobe has aggressively advanced its network publishing vision to both creative professionals and enterprise-class customers. In April 2002, Adobe completed its acquisition of Ottawa-based Accelio Corp., complementing its growing Acrobat franchise. The acquisition immediately established Adobe as a leading provider of Web-enabled solutions for enterprise processes driven by electronic forms.
