Adobe Commits US$2.8 Million in Cash and Product Donations to Community Partners Worldwide.

New and Existing Community Partnerships Advance Adobe's Commitment to

Alleviate Hunger, Combat Homelessness and Improve K-12 Education

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE), the leader in network publishing, today announced a commitment of more than US$1.3 million in cash and US$1.5 million in product donations to support the programs of 30 non-profit organizations and schools selected as 2002 Adobe community investment partners. The company also announced the creation of the Adobe Foundation Fund, in partnership with the Community Foundation Silicon Valley to begin building an endowment for its philanthropy program.

Of the US$1.3 million committed to the community partner organizations this year, US$1 million will immediately be granted and the remaining amount will be granted in multi-year commitments. Adobe plans to fund additional multi-national programs that will be announced later this year.

Adobe 2002 Community Partners

The commitments Adobe is making over the next year include donations to City Year, the Emergency Housing Consortium and Family Works. The focus of City Year, an AmeriCorps program, is to engage 17-27 year-olds to provide service to children and youth in support of academic and social success. Emergency Housing Consortium offers emergency shelter, transitional and permanent affordable housing and supportive services for the homeless people of Silicon Valley. FamilyWorks' food bank and family resource center provides emergency food, life skills training and parenting support programs to help strengthen families as the foundation of a healthy community.

To honor its 2002 community partners, Adobe will host a special orientation and celebration at its headquarters on April 11 and 12, 2002. San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales and the office of the Mayor of Seattle, Wash. are expected to attend as honored guests.
