Adnavance Technologies Appoints Ronald G. Sosnowski, Ph.D., to Vice President Research & Development.

Experienced Molecular Scientist Joins Adnavance to Lead Development of M-DNA Technology Platform at New San Diego Facility

VANCOUVER, British Columbia & SAN DIEGO -- Adnavance Technologies Inc., a developer of direct detection molecular diagnostic tests for medical applications, announced today that the company appointed Ronald G. Sosnowski, Ph.D., to Vice President Research & Development. Dr. Sosnowski has more than 25 years of experience in molecular diagnostics and has authored more than 25 patents and journal articles. He was most recently Senior Director, Molecular Biology and Research for Nanogen, a molecular diagnostics and point-of-care testing company.

Dr. Sosnowski joins an experienced management team in San Diego including Gene Dantsker, Ph.D., Chief Technical Officer, and Randy White, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer, to expand upon the company's capabilities and offerings utilizing its proprietary M-DNA technology. Dr. Dantsker led the company's original transition from a University lab into a corporate presence in Vancouver, British Columbia. Prior to his post at Adnavance, he co-founded Nanostream, a provider of high-throughput microfluidic analytical systems, where he was Vice President of Technology for seven years. Dr. Dantsker earned both a Ph.D. and M.A. in physics from the University of California at Berkeley.

With its significant advantages over existing DNA testing methods, including ease of use, time to result and lower cost, Adnavance's patented ultra-sensitive M-DNA direct detection technology may eliminate the need for target amplification for a large number of molecular diagnostic tests. Laboratories that perform tests using target amplification require expensive capital equipment, specialized infrastructure, highly trained personnel and a high-complexity testing license. As a result, only about 10% of hospital laboratories and only 35% of all independent laboratories in the U.S. perform molecular diagnostic testing.
