The phase from c.2025–c.1763 B.C.  code: FR0004026250 - BOB), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that the Administrative Office of the Courts of Georgia (AOC AOC,
n an acronym for the Aromatherapy Organizations Council.
) has standardized on BusinessObjects(TM) XI, the industry's most advanced and complete BI platform. As a state agency, the AOC provides support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  for the efficient operation of over one thousand courts across Georgia. The AOC relies on BusinessObjects XI to help track and report on everything from judicial personnel to traffic ticket fine collection and allocation to case management-related data.

"Our department is consolidating data from the fractured case management systems used around the state by moving it from antiquated processes to a more unified, automated, centralized system In telecommunications, a centralized system is one in which most communications are routed through one or more major central hubs. Such a system allows certain functions to be concentrated in the system's hubs, freeing up resources in the peripheral units. ," said Jorge Basto, director for information technology at the administrative office of the Courts of Georgia. "Business Objects is a critical part of our strategy to break down these fiefdoms of data, and make information available to relevant parties. Using Business Objects had already enabled our organization to increase efficiency and reduce costs in many areas and we're looking forward to extending the benefits of our business intelligence deployment across the state."

The AOC IT department is working on a multi-year initiative to consolidate data from the courts and create a portal that will improve collaboration amongst judges and between Georgia's judiciary, legislative, and law enforcement organizations. Federal or local law enforcement could also access this portal and use the data to support Department of Homeland Security Noun 1.  initiatives and inquiries. The agency selected BusinessObjects XI as its BI standard for its security features, scalability, and ability to easily integrate into JAVA applications A Java program that is run stand alone. The Java Virtual Machine in the client or server is interpreting the instructions. Contrast with Java applet. See servlet. .

The AOC has deployed Crystal Reports(R) XI to run reports from SUSTAIN, the agency's case management system provided to any Georgia court free of charge. Crystal Reports enables the organization to consolidate and report on every element of each case including: the name, address, search and fugitive warrants, judge and lawyers involved, probation, fines, and disposition of the case. Once the case has been disposed, Crystal Reports builds a history on that case that can be transmitted to appropriate local, state, or national organizations. The AOC envisions that this data will be automatically entered into a central portal that all judges can access so they can make better informed rulings about accused citizens.

Currently, the AOC IT staff is preparing to install SUSTAIN in the Georgia Supreme Court and replace the legacy docketing system. Using SUSTAIN will help the Supreme Court transition to an electronic document environment and enable electronic filing of appellate cases. Crystal Reports will also be used with SUSTAIN to provide the court with critical data required for the efficient administration of justice.

The data reported on and tracked by Crystal Reports is also used to identify trends and patterns in criminal activity. Special commissions and committees are formed based on information delivered by Crystal Reports. For example, reports on juvenile crime and drug treatment programs indicated a dangerous drug problem with Georgia's youth and resulted in founding Georgia's Drug Endangered Children's Council (GADEC), a governor-mandated council designed to protect Georgia's children from drug abuse. The AOC also relies on these reports to determine judicial appointments. Based on case count statistics throughout the state, additional judges are requested of the Legislature to address increased caseload case·load
