Adler Planetarium to Upgrade With New Digital Theater Technology From E&S; Digistar 3 System to be Installed in Chicago.

) -- Chicago's Adler Planetarium The Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum in Chicago, Illinois was the first planetarium built in the Western Hemisphere and is the oldest in existence today.[1]  & Astronomy Museum has selected Evans & Sutherland's Digistar(R) 3 to upgrade its StarRider(R) theater, E&S announced today.

The upgrade will include a complete Digistar 3 system as well as Digistar 3 Junior and Digistar Producer production support systems. Delivery of the production workstation will begin this year with installation scheduled to be complete early next year.

"By upgrading with Digistar 3, we are ensuring that the Adler will continue to be at the forefront of planetarium planetarium, optical device used to project a representation of the heavens onto a domed ceiling; the term also designates the building that houses such a device.
