Aditya Birla Group announces cement performance for Dec 2008.

Mumbai, Jan 2 (ANI/Business Wire India): The Aditya Birla Group's Cement production for the period April-December 2008 has moved up by 4.15 per cent at 230.46 lac lac, resinous exudation from the bodies of females of a species of scale insect (Tachardia lacca), from which shellac is prepared. India is the chief source of shellac, although some is obtained from other areas in Southeast Asia.  mt as against 221.28 lac mt during April-December 2007.

Dispatches grew by 4.41 per cent at 230.46 lac mt in April-December 2008 vis-a-vis 220.73 lac mt in the corresponding period last year.

Cement production for the month of December 2008 rose by 14.85 per cent at 29.27 lac mt. Dispatches are up by 13.36 per cent at 29.82 lac mt over December 2007. (ANI)
