Adexa Goes Live At Pulse; Adexa Enables Leading Magnetic Components Maker to Remotely Manage Multiple Facilities and Contract Manufacturers.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 2002

Adexa, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise business planning solutions, today announced the implementation of its solution at Pulse, an industry leader in the design and manufacture of passive magnetic components. The implementation has given Pulse its first-ever live, global view of inventory at all sites, along with commitment dates, volumes for partial shipments and capable-to-promise dates. Further, the Adexa solution is now planning more than 80% of Pulse's production requirements.

Pulse uses a network of factories as well as contract manufacturers throughout the Asia-Pacific region, each of which maintains specific product databases. With Adexa, Pulse can now model the capacity of its global supply chain and production facilities to make constraint-based sourcing decisions.

Pulse, a past recipient of Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award, continually strives to better support its customer base. As part of this quest for continuous progress, Pulse saw an opportunity to improve its delivery execution, and develop a key part of its e-business infrastructure by integrating Adexa solutions. The collaborative planning solution enables Pulse to create a dynamic supply chain plan that includes constraints at outsourced operations.

Adexa solutions support an average of 160,000 demand lines modeling the supply chain from raw material availability to customer consignment locations providing greater supply chain visibility. Customer service representatives around the world can now provide commitment dates to customers based on their constrained supply chain plan.

"Adexa's solutions allow us to provide real time available and capable to promise, enhancing our customer responsiveness," said Bill Fister, vice president of logistics for Pulse. "Furthermore, Adexa provides global visibility of our worldwide supply chain to identify opportunities for cost reduction and deliver faster cycle times."

"Pulse had a vision for synchronizing global supply chain operations and adding velocity to its ability to service customers, and had a solution-set that could make that vision a reality," said Steven Chung, vice president of consulting for Adexa.
