Adexa Expands to Chinese Marketplace; New Supply Chain Sales, Deployment and Support Facility Opens in Shanghai.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 2003

Adexa, Inc., a leading provider of integrated supply chain and performance management solutions, today announced the opening of its new office in Shanghai, China. The office will provide Adexa with local representation in the world's most vibrant manufacturing nation.

"In every sector, Chinese manufacturing growth is outpacing that of all other countries," said Cyrus Hadavi, Adexa's president and chief executive officer. "Within a few years, 50% of the world's manufacturing plants will be located in China, and those facilities will need to fill orders from all over the world. To deliver finished goods on time and on budget, they must be able to dynamically process supply and demand information and generate the most profitable execution plans and schedules. Adexa solutions do that. The establishment of a regional office in China creates a tremendous growth opportunity for our company."

Around the world, the price of finished goods is under attack. China, with labor costs that range between 40% and 90% lower than other countries, delivers significant savings to manufacturers, regardless of their operational performance. Adexa technology solutions, which optimize manufacturing assets, material allocation and inventory levels, increase performance and efficiency to drive time and costs from enterprise operations and supply chains. They are pre-tailored to meet the unique requirements of all high-growth Chinese manufacturing sectors, and provide multicultural mul·ti·cul·tur·al

and multinational user groups with a common platform to collaborate and resolve issues that impact production schedules, costs and customer service levels.

"Conducting business in China is very different than in most other countries," said Andrew Hsiao, the general manager of Adexa's Chinese office. "There are significant cultural diversities in Chinese provinces that have to be taken into account in all personal exchanges. Establishing credibility and earning trust is a process that takes time. Business models and business rules are more complex, and supply chain and factory planning can be more challenging."

China's cultural differences actually play to Adexa's strengths. Its solutions model extremely complex data, taking into account any business rules that one might apply, and when planning changes are required, they have the flexibility to remodel re·mod·el
