BOSTON -- Software Industry Veteran Joins As Company Expands on Successes in Mobile Software With a Breakthrough Distributed Applications Platform and Marketplace

Adesso Systems, a leading provider of application development solutions, today announced that John Van Siclen, a 25-year software industry veteran, will become the company's chief executive officer. Mr. Van Siclen is joining the company as it launches the AppsNOW V4 platform, the first-ever environment that enables users of all levels of sophistication to easily and rapidly develop, customize and deploy distributed and mobile applications, The company also announced the launch of AppsNOW Marketplace, an online market designed to foster a community for extending, improving and discussing applications developed on the platform.

Adesso's underlying technology radically simplifies complex distributed systems logic, making it easily accessible to users and developers with wide ranging skills. By delivering this power through a SaaS model, Adesso is delivering the world's first 'Sync as a Service' offering, making it's the promise of distributed applications easily accessible to a significantly larger user and developer community.

The AppsNOW Marketplace is the perfect complement to the new AppsNOW V4 platform. It fosters a community where developers can gather to discuss, exchange and sell applications while concurrently providing users an electronic marketplace of potentially highly domain-specific applications. Adesso will provide its AppsNOW V4 development platform at no cost. Applications built on the platform can be listed and downloaded by users from the AppsNOW Marketplace catalog. The application developer receives a check every month based on usage providing developers, Independent Software Vendors and Systems Integrators a means to monetize their specific expertise. Mr. Van Siclen brings a wealth of experience that will be instrumental to Adesso's future plans. Over his career, Mr. Van Siclen has served as chief executive officer at publicly traded and venture-backed companies, Interwoven (NASDAQ:IWOV) and Perspecta (acquired by Excite@Home), respectively. In addition, Mr. Van Siclen has held key executive leadership positions at SupportSoft, Informix, and NetFRAME Systems. He has a proven track record for building and managing high performance organizations - sales, marketing, strategic business development, professional services, products, and finance.

Mr. Van Siclen will assume the CEO role on June 26th.
