CHICAGO & SINSHEIM, Germany -- Adept Technology, Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

See OTC Bulletin Board (OTCBB).
:ADEO ADEO Air Defense Engagement Operations (US Army) ), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced several products that set a new industry standard for the robotics industry in the areas of adaptability and accuracy. Adept will offer demonstrations of several of its new products at the 2005 Assembly Technology Expo (ATE), September 26-29, Booth 1217 and at MOTEK 2005, September 27-30, Stand 3102.

The new and enhanced Adept product line-up meets the increasing need for small parts assembly and material handling applications across multiple industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, consumer goods consumer goods

The new robots have been designed to ensure reduced application development time, improved speed and accuracy, and the fastest possible configuration and delivery times, resulting in significantly greater return on investment throughout the production lifecycle.

"Our new products represent a major step forward in manufacturing automation, as manufacturers in more industries deploy our robots to automate and accelerate a greater number of tasks, including those involving much smaller parts," said Robert Bucher, chairman and chief executive officer of Adept Technology, Inc. "As we continue to implement groundbreaking technologies, we remained focused on responding to our customers' needs for higher quality, greater flexibility, and faster time-to-benefit."

The new Adept products extend across the company's entire product line and address such applications as packaging, high-speed and precision dispensing, small parts materials handling Materials handling

The loading, moving, and unloading of materials. The hundreds of different ways of handling materials are generally classified according to the type of equipment used.
, and flexible parts feeding and handling. All products described below are currently available for order:

Above the Belt Packaging

To meet the need for high-speed packaging and assembly, Adept offers the AdeptViper(TM) s650 and AdeptViper s850, 6-axis robots that offer speed, precision, and high performance. Ideal for assembly, material handling, packaging, machine tending, and many other operations requiring fast and precise automation, AdeptViper robots feature the powerful Adept vision guidance system and an extended reach with a 5 kg payload (1) Refers to the "actual data" in a packet or file minus all headers attached for transport and minus all descriptive meta-data. In a network packet, headers are appended to the payload for transport and then discarded at their destination. . The AdeptViper s650 offers a reach of 653 mm, while the AdeptViper s850 extends 854 mm. AdeptViper robots are controlled by the Adept SmartController CX, a high-performance motion and vision controller that leverages the unique Adept SmartServo(TM) technology.

Precise, High-speed Dispensing

For precise, high-speed dispensing, Adept offers Adept Python(TM), a family of high-quality linear modules for assembly material handling and dispensing applications. Python linear modules incorporate unique design features making them the most robust modules for gantry Gantry

or cantilever configurations. Built-to-order and assembled, configured and tested at Adept, Python linear modules can be combined into several configurations, including single-axis, 2-axis and 3-axis, and can be mounted on a table, wall, or ceiling.

--Python L08 modules feature an 85 mm cross section and are available in lengths from 100 mm to 800 mm.

--Python L12 modules feature a 125 mm cross section and are available in lengths from 200 mm to 1500 mm.

--Python L18 modules feature a 185 mm cross section and are available in lengths from 300 mm to 1600 mm.

Python linear modules are controlled by the Adept SmartController CX and the MotionBlox 10 servo controller and amplifier, allowing for easy programming of custom mechanisms to perform straight-line motion and circular motion In physics, circular motion is rotation along a circle: a circular path or a circular orbit. The rotation around a fixed axis of a three-dimensional body involves circular motion of its parts.  in three-dimensional space Three-dimensional space is the physical universe we live in. The three dimensions are commonly called length, width, and breadth, although any three mutually perpendicular directions can serve as the three dimensions. Pictures are commonly two dimensional, they lack depth. .

Small Parts Material Handling

With the ability to maintain high speeds and heavy payloads within a small motion envelope, the Adept Cobra(TM) s350 series robot is perfect for material handling, mechanical assembly, packaging, machine tending, screw driving, and many other operations requiring fast and precise automation. The latest addition to the proven Adept Cobra family, the s350 features a high-precision design and small footprint for workplace efficiency.

The Adept Cobra s350 CR/ESD, a clean-room version of the s350, features an electrostatically-dissipative surface for use in disk drive manufacturing. The Adept Cobra s350 series robot has a 350 mm reach and is controlled by the Adept SmartController(TM) CX and MotionBlox 40R SmartServo controller and amplifiers, offering a high-performance SCARA robot for compact work areas.

Flexible Parts Feeding and Handling

For economical, flexible feeding and rapid, accurate parts location and handling, Adept offers Adept iSight(TM) for its Adept Cobra i600 and Cobra i800 robots. Thanks to its simple, graphical user interface graphical user interface (GUI)

, Adept iSight provides easy-to-use, out-of-the-box, PC-based vision-guidance that enables quick development of robust and accurate vision-guided applications. Adept iSight enables automation involving smaller parts and tighter tolerances, resulting in higher quality products without the need for complex programming or additional development tools.

World's Fastest, Most Precise SCARA Robots

Adept SCARA robots are designed for assembly and part-handling tasks that require greater precision, strength and speed than other robots on the market provide. The Adept Cobra series and the Adept One-XL and Adept Three-XL have been optimized for high-speed performance while incorporating maintainability, and serviceability (system) serviceability - The ease with which corrective maintenance or preventative maintenance can be performed on a system (e.g. by a hardware service technician).
