Adelphia Communications Corp. to Add Peering Port to PAIX 10GigE Switch in Palo Alto.


TAMPA, Fla. -- Switch and Data today announced that Adelphia Communications Corp., the fifth-largest cable television company in the country, will add a second Gigabit Ethernet port to the PAIX 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch in Palo Alto.

Switch and Data's PAIX services enable Internet service providers and content providers to take advantage of more interconnection choices, quicker time to market, access to more networks, vast peering and transit opportunities, and a richly diverse customer base - all available in highly secure and reliable facilities available in 11 markets. The move to 10 Gigabit Ethernet establishes the foundation for the future of peering services in terms of supporting customer density growth and enabling the next generation of Gigabit Ethernet technology - 10GigE.
