Addonics Shoots For Nothing But Net.


Addonics Technologies' new NetStor Combo Server, a plug-and-play, multi-protocol CD/DVD/Archive server, is scaleable and expandable. The CD/DVD/Archive server is designed as a solution for the library, corporate, small workgroups, call centers, educational, and government markets. It is suited for the following applications:

* Sharing used CD or DVD DVD: see digital versatile disc.

The server operates stand alone without a file server. It offloads CD/DVD traffic and data from the network file server so it can serve applications.

The new product supports up to eight IDE hard drives of any capacity. It can accommodate up to 640 CD/DVD titles and Archive directories. The size of each title or directories can be up to 4GB, giving a storage capacity of 2,560GB for each product.

The NetStor Combo Server provides a throughput of up to 7MB/sec. It offers price/performance advantages by using IDE hard disk drives. The architecture design enables the users to add storage as needed as needed prn. See prn order. . Hard drives are added to the server via one of the removable drive (1) A device that spins, reads and writes an optical disc, hard magnetic disk or floppy (magnetic) disk, which is inserted into the unit by means of a drive tray or cartridge slot. Examples of removable drive media are CDs, DVDs, REV disks and Zip disks. See removable disk.  racks that are built onto the unit.
