Adder Targets the Mid-Market with New CATx Switches; The AdderView CATx and AdderView CATx IP deliver local, remote and global IT control.

NEW YORK -- Adder Corporation has launched the AdderView CATx and AdderView CATx IP products. These multi-user KVM switching solutions address the growing need of systems' administrators for sophisticated, out-of-band CPU management tools that fulfill the needs of the mid-market.

Built using Adder's advanced technology, the two products enable local, remote, and with the CATx IP, global control of PCs and servers, delivering on a previously unmet market requirement for exceptional reliability and compatibility.

Exceptional video performance over CATx cable ensures that video bandwidth is kept to a minimum. This means that even global users can gain real time access to remote servers and provides system administrators with an enhanced view of the monitor on remotely controlled servers. This has been achieved using the latest state-of-the-art 300 MHz differential cross-point switching technology that allows the switch to support resolutions of up to 1900 x 1440 pixels.

Enhanced audio quality means that the AdderView CATx and AdderView CATx IP incorporate digitally sampled audio signals at 44.1kHz and the elimination of unwanted 'clicks' often associated with audio on KVM equipment. System administrators are able to rely upon the relay of sound from the systems they are controlling remotely, thereby alerting them to errors flagged by audible alarms. Most importantly, the audio is completely quiet when no sounds are being generated by the computer.

Continuing with the highly successful partnership Adder has with Real VNC, the CATx IP utilizes a highly developed version of the Real VNC server and remote viewer. Virtual Network Computing (VNC) software has an international user base in excess of 100 million.

When working over a LAN, the CATx IP products have exceptional screen rate updates representing a 10 degree lag compared to 180 degree lag for other products. Users can expect their actions to be recorded on screen in real time, eliminating the needless mistakes associated with other systems that operate extended lag times.

All products are housed in 1U high metal cases and are provided with 19-inch rack mount kits and may be desk, shelf or rack mounted.

Pricing and Availability

The AdderView CATx is available with 16 or 24 computer connections, one local user connection, and four CATx user connections. The AdderView CATx IP is also available with 16 or 24 computer connections, one local user connection, one IP connection, and two CATx user connections.

Both models will be available though distributors in late Q1 2006. Pricing is from $1495.00 for the AdderView CATx and $2195.00 for the AdderView CATx IP.
