AdderLink AV200 Series Delivers Quality Video and Audio for Digital Signage Digital signage is a form of out-of-home advertising in which content and messages displayed on an electronic screen, or digital sign, can be changed without modification to the physical sign, typically with the goal of delivering targeted messages to specific locations at  Market

, extenders and IP solutions, today announced the availability of the AdderLink AV200 Series range of modular audiovisual extenders.

The AdderLink AV200 Series of audiovisual extenders delivers crisp, clear and bright video, as well as CD quality stereo audio across installations up to 300m/1000ft. The innovative design allows for flexible audiovisual distribution, management, control and interaction with display devices and can be expanded to grow inline with project development. With full RS232 support to control and manipulate remote video display panels and supporting resolutions up to HD1080p, the AV200 series is the ideal professional narrowcast To transmit to selected individuals. Cable TV and satellite radio are examples of narrowcast services because they reach only their subscriber base. Mailing lists are another example. Contrast with broadcast. "Adder has always ensured that our products provide superb quality video and audio for the digital signage market," said Richard Cawdery, Adder's Product Manager. "However, the ability of the AdderLink AV200 Series to communicate with up to 64 screens individually or collectively from a single RS232 interface brings a new level of digital signage display management to this market."

Adder DM (Display Manager) software is supplied with the AV200 series. This advanced application allows for control of parameters such as display power, video and audio of individual screens, groups of screens or all screens. Due to Adder's 'Open Architecture' policy, any 3rd party signage control system can be used across the AV200 series.

In the past, management of display screens could be difficult when using analog video The original video recording method that stores continuous waves of red, green and blue intensities. In analog video, the number of rows is fixed. There are no real columns, and the maximum detail is determined by the frequency response of the analog system.  and audio over CATx for digital signage applications. Adder solves this problem with the unique way in which it has integrated transparent RS232 into the AdderLink AV200 series. A user can now power screens on and off individually, by group or collectively, and automate all this from the play out device. For example, in a retail environment all screens can be turned on at 8.30 a.m. when the store opens and most switched off at 6 p.m. when the store closes, leaving the displays in the windows on until 11 p.m. This scheduling can be defined per day to reflect the needs of the customer's location.
