Addendum.
In the June June: see month. 2003 issue, the State & Local Taxes column stated the following, in the last sentence on p. 367:
"... sales tax sales tax, levy on the sale of goods or services, generally calculated as a percentage of the selling price, and sometimes called a purchase tax. It is usually collected in the form of an extra charge by the retailer, who remits the tax to the government. simplification will continue to be one of the main focuses of state taxation"
It should have read,
"... sales tax simplification will continue to be one of the main focuses of state taxation for some time to come."

Planning includes attempting to make optimal decisions, projecting the consequences of these decisions for the firm in the form of a financial plan, and then comparing future performance against column, all of the instances of "1/2" (as in "59 1/2" and "70 1/2") printed as "fi."
