Add rent supplement unit to Richmond's Courtyard Gardens.
Richmond -- Forty assisted living units at Courtyard Gardens will
receive rent supplements, provided by BC Housing to help bridge the gap
between the market rent and what some tenants can afford.
Courtyard Gardens, operated by Diversicare since 1990, was one of
B.C.'s first assisted living developments, with 107 units. With
this announcement, 40 homes will be made available for seniors in need
of affordable housing and support services. The 40 funded assisted
living units will be filled as vacancies are created. It is expected
that the subsidized assisted living units will be filled by the end of
February 2007.
