GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Washington Redskins

    Injured, returns

    Patriots cornerback Randall Gay injured his left arm early in the first quarter.

    Gay and Rodney Harrison collided as they tackled Steve Smith after an 8-yard reception.

    Gay held his wrist as he went off to the locker room. He returned to the game in the second quarter.

    Indoor action

    Rain was forecast for the greater Phoenix area yesterday and the decision to close the University of Phoenix Stadium roof was made early.

    In 10 previous games played indoors, Brady had a quarterback rating of 104.7.

    The Patriots last played a game in Arizona in 2004, but that was before this stadium was built.
