Adaptive Silicon Inc. today announced that Synopsys Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS) has made an equity investment in the rapidly growing start-up. Synopsys Inc. is a leading supplier of electronic design automation (EDA) solutions to the global electronic market. This event marks a significant step in the partnership between the two companies in bringing enabling hardware and software technology to the growing revolution in system-on-chip products.

The Synopsys investment follows an earlier investment from LSI Logic. The company plans to use the funds to continue its aggressive growth plans and complete its first product introduction in 2000.
