On Nov. 16, in the Grand Ballroom at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, approximately 1,300 COMDEX The former, premier computer trade show in the U.S. Although it grew into an end user event, it was originally created for dealers and distributors (it was the COMputer Dealers EXposition).  attendees donated $10 to The Tech Museum of Innovation as they entered the second annual Adaptec Incredibly Outrageous (I/O) benefit.

Raffle prizes such as a trip for two to Hawaii, Adaptec products, and a home entertainment system raised additional funds to benefit The Tech Museum. The Tubes with Fee Waybill were the main entertainment attraction at the benefit extravaganza, which also included disc jockey music and dancing, Madonna and Elvis impersonators, and a large buffet.

to expand its educational offerings and to promote technology use and awareness among all people," said Peter Giles, president of The Tech Museum of Innovation.
