) announced today that it has completed its preliminary evaluation of the allocation of the purchase price to the assets acquired in association with its recently announced acquisitions of CD-Recordable software technology (Toast) and Skipstone Inc.

These two acquisitions will be accounted for under the purchase accounting method. Accordingly, a one-time non-tax deductible That which may be taken away or subtracted. In taxation, an item that may be subtracted from gross income or adjusted gross income in determining taxable income (e.g., interest expenses, charitable contributions, certain taxes).  charge to earnings aggregating approximately $0.08-$0.12 per share will be recorded during the company's fourth fiscal quarter, ended March 31, 1997, for the in-process research and development acquired.
